Prototype PV Solar Power Plant — DPER-SE Project

As part of the DPER-SE (Deployment of Rural Electrification Platforms — Southeast) project, Sud Solar Système developed and commissioned a prototype of a new generation photovoltaic power plant, designed to test and demonstrate innovative solutions perfectly adapted to the constraints of the terrain.

Technical Specifications

• High-efficiency solar modules to maximize production even under varying sunlight conditions
• Battery storage system ensuring continuous power supply, day and night
• Intelligent regulation (MPPT) and micro-inverters guaranteeing optimized power capture and current quality
• Remote monitoring with real-time performance tracking and automatic alerts in case of anomalies

Local Impact

• Reliable power supply for essential infrastructure (schools, health centers, water points)
• Strengthening the energy resilience of rural communities in the Southeast
• Training of local technicians in the operation and maintenance of the prototype to ensure sustainable skills transfer

Challenges and Prospects

• This prototype serves as a field laboratory:
• Validating the robustness of the equipment in the face of climatic conditions (high heat, dust)
• Refining installation and maintenance processes
• Preparing for the large-scale deployment of similar solutions in other rural areas

Building on the lessons learned from this Pilot, Sud Solar Système confirms its commitment to offering increasingly reliable, efficient and easy-to-reproduce solar installations, to accelerate the energy transition in Senegal.
